Face it. Glasses are a part of everyday life now.

I am fairly young, but I have noticed more and more than my eye sight is slowly deteriorating… and that is not a fact of life that makes me very happy. I have had eyeglasses since I was ten years old, and sometimes I wish I would have continued to wear them from that point on because back then my eyesight was not nearly as bad as it is now. But I abused myself by refusing to wear them and now almost ten years later my eyes are ten times worse.

Over the last few years I have realized I need prescription glasses, but without the money or insurance plan to be able to see the doctor I have further neglected my needs medically. I did talk to a family friend and he told me I was farsighted. Okay, that explains why my eyes are like this.

Since I could not afford real prescription glasses I ended buying a pair from target and they have really helped my up close vision. I am sure they are not the best quality I could have purchased but they work fine for me, it amazes me how well I can see up close now. I just feel like an old person when I have to take them off to be capable of seeing far away.

One day, I will hopefully get my real prescription eyeglasses, but for now my generic glasses will do. I am not complaining because my temporary fix is working great for me right now. I would not have it any other way.

This is a sponsored post, but every fact and detail in this post are true. My eyes really do suck.

Consider yourself lucky–I’ve had prescription since I was 10, but lucky I’ve stayed the same since I was 18. Crossing my fingers that it doesn’t get worse!

  3. Yep, glasses since first grade. My parents even did the patch idea on one eye and then sent me to the optometrist to do ‘eye exercises’. I thought it was stupid, but my opthomologist I have now says it saved my vision in the bad eye by re-wiring my pathways for vision in my brain. I’ve always hated wearing glasses, but I’m glad I can afford them with insurance. The Lyons Clubs all over the U.S. will help you with getting a pair of glasses if you can’t afford them. Check them out!
