Knockem App Review

[ 0 ] 03/23/2010 | NinaSay

I love iPhone Apps that are perfect for situations when I am waiting in line, or waiting for my name to be called at the doctors office… especially one of those days where I was squeezed in and my wait is extremely long. I recently got to review the Knockem App made from the amazing people at eBattalion. And before I get too far into this review, I must say that they have a long list of other apps that look great as well!

The first thing I noticed about this app is that it can last a very long time, my first game lasted 15 minutes at least. As long as you are playing well, you could probably play this game for hours straight. The goal of the game is to use your “space ball” to break down the power of the quite deviant looking monsters and defeat them. This part gets quite difficult because at certain points in the game there are quite a few on the screen at a time, but that is the perfect opportunity to get combos (which happen when you hit more than one monster numerous times within one throw of your space ball) and those combos can restore your lives in the game, so seeing that little “1 Up!” is always a great thing while playing, it means your staying alive and getting a better score.

In this app, the monsters appear through their blue portal and then they try and make their way down and into your read portal… the red portal is what you are protecting and every time a monster enters your red portal is when you lose a life. The concept is very simple, yet the game play can get very intense.

When I get overwhelmed with all of the little creatures, I look for the bomb monster. He is the best monster in the whole game, when you hit him with your space ball, all of the monsters surrounding him blow up! And for me, that was a huge life saver when I could not get rid of all of the terrors, and my lives were quickly draining.

Like I said earlier, this is a great app for any time when you are waiting for something in public and you can not do anything but sit and wait. It is also a fun game to play during commercial and bathroom breaks! And the great thing is there is a pause button, so no worries if your television show comes back on or you need to wipe!
