SodaStream Review

[ 4 ] 12/26/2009 | NinaSay

As Americans, we enjoy past times that started back when there were soda in water fountains. But unfortunately it is not that cheap anymore. Unfortunately I was not around to drink from a soda fountain, but I can tell you that I do love soda and it is a terrible habit of mine. I buy an eight or twelve pack of soda one to three times a week. Just for myself, and that does not include my husbands soda. It is a huge waste of time to waste all your money on pre-made, pre-packaged soda.

I was given the opportunity to review a SodaStream soda maker, and I can tell you from personal  experience that this is a great product to have at home,  especially if your family enjoys a soda every now and then.  Personally, I never knew that there was a machine that consumers could buy to make their own soda in the comfort of their own home. It is quite impressive and I cannot believe how well it works. Here is my take on the SodaStream:

Pros:

  • It does not need to be plugged in the wall. Uses ZERO electricity, so it is not only saving you money from buying soda, but saving you money on your electricity bill.
  • One bottle of syrup flavoring lasts a very long time, one cap full makes a liter of soda.
  • It makes one liter at a time, that is the perfect amount. That is why I dislike two liters, they go flat quickly.
  • All of the soda flavors tast amazing, they do not seem like they are off brand. Even the flavors that are not mainstream soda flavors are delicious.

Cons:

  • The machine can be quite loud when you are carbonating the water.

As you can see, the SodaStream really scored high on my list, 9/10. The only thing I cannot do is make soda in the middle of the night because of the loud noise it makes. But all around it is an amazing product, perfect for any family who enjoys soda but is tired of spending twenty dollars every week on soda. You will also never have to buy two liters again, and they will never go flat before you get to finish drinking them. Everything about the size of the bottles, and the flavoring of the soda makes he SodaStream one of the best products I have reviewed in 2009. Big thumbs up to SodaStream, and keep up the good work!

I would recommend this product to all, and they can be purchased online at SodaStreamUSA.com

Ya know, I saw this while out shopping and thought it was the neatest thing. I wasn’t sure if I should get it not, but I’m thinking I should! I’ve seen things like beer makers, but not pop, that’s pretty neat!

I’m more of a juice drinker. If I do want soda, I get the smaller 8 oz. cans now. This does look like an interesting product though!

I always find store-bought sodas to be too sweet… I love how you can customize how sweet/flavorful you want your soda to be with the sodastream! I rarely drink soda (I can barely finish a can of Sprite, it gets all warm towards the end and I have to dump it) but my friend has one of these and we added carbonated water to juice, which was delicious! I’d totally get one if I liked carbonated drinks, but sadly, I dont :(
