Hi! I’m Allie, one of the new Guest Reviewers. This is my first review, and I’m really excited to be on board here at TheOneFantastical. Now, we all know that texting and driving is a serious issue these days, especially concerning teens. I try really hard to avoid texting and focusing on maneuvering my car around, but sometimes when I know it’s someone I need to talk to, or I’m sitting at a red light and my phone vibrates, I just can’t resist. at thumbwars.org, and are promoted by the phone company Sprint. They’re actually pretty cute. They basically are little yellow and white thumb covers that you slip on when you get in the car so you won’t be tempted to reply to your vibrating phone while you drive. I decided to test them out this morning, and I found that they’re pretty useful, depending on what kind of phone you have. I did NOT do this while driving, okay guys?

I put on my Thumb Socks and attempted to text on my LG enV 2 phone. I was able to do it, but the text required a lot of concentration and use of the delete button. Then i tried it with my Apple iPod Touch to see if it was more effective with touch screen typing. I have to say that they were. My phone has keyboard buttons that are much easier to press than touch screen buttons.

Overall, I think that Thumb Socks are a great concept in theory, but in actuality probably won’t do much to prevent accidents involving texting while driving. The people that are diligent enough to wear their Thumb Socks probably aren’t the people that are going to crash their cars while texting. But hey, you never know.
