So, as most of you know I am a mother to a wonderful little girl. And lately I have been thinking about what it means to be a mom, and all of the great things that come along with it. So here are my top 10 reasons to be a mom.
- You will always be someones hero.
- There is nothing better than when your baby will only say “mama”, no matter how hard your husband tried to get “dada” or “papa” to come out.
- Making your baby laugh for the first time, and many times to come.
- FINALLY having someone to go shopping with, even if that someone always asks for every other thing.
- Being completely over the top and goofy when your watching cartoons with your child every morning.. what can I say, I just cant help but to dance when I hear Ni Hao Kai Lan come on. Hey… better than Dora.
- Seeing the personality of your child grow more and more every day.
- When somebody tells you how much your child resembles you, and that they are going to be “So Beautiful/Handsome”
- Having somebody to live for.
- Having somebody that melts your heart. With something as little as a smile.
- And finally, being a mom is the thing that has made me most proud in life.
So there you have it! For those of you without children, this may not mean much to you… but you should honestly look forward to it if children are in your future. And for those who already have kids, this is just one of those priceless pieces of art that are dedicated to all of the kin that brighten our lives day after day.

Great list! I had to laugh at #2! And #7 always makes my day!
That’s one great list!

“FINALLY having someone to go shopping with, even if that someone always asks for every other thing.”
“Having somebody to live for.”
What..? Do you think a shopping mall is the ideal place for a 6 month old child?? How about staying SAFE at home and sending DAD, does not occur to you as a good idea….?
And, come on, having someone to live for? How ABOUT THE HUSBAND YOU EXCHANGED VOWS WITH and “theoretically” love? And how about family, close friends..?
Seriously…
“What..? Do you think a shopping mall is the ideal place for a 6 month old child?? How about staying SAFE at home and sending DAD, does not occur to you as a good idea….?”
You can go shopping with your child after they are 6 months old. And I meant GROCERY shopping. When there is a mall with a Save Mart in it where I live, you let me know.
“And, come on, having someone to live for? How ABOUT THE HUSBAND YOU EXCHANGED VOWS WITH and “theoretically” love? And how about family, close friends..?”
Your Husband, family and friends can ALL take care of themself. Your children are the ONLY people who need you 100% of the time. Therefor, you live FOR them. All the rest, your THERE for them.
“Seriously”
Your name is “Pedro” therefore a man, what do you know about the meaningful things MOTHERHOOD brings anyways? And the way you talk you have some issues, you do not need to vent on me here.
Kudos to you Nina..
I happen to love your list…
A true mother LIVES FOR HER CHILDREN…
I was a young mother myself and I found it a joy. I loved my baby boy more than anything. On that note, I do not promote teen age pregnacy at all. I thank God that I was ready for it, I embraced it and loved it but not everyone is cut out to be a young mom. It’s very hard.
As far as shopping goes, the MAJORITY OF DADS don’t like to go shopping. Be it clothing, furniture or food. They find it boring and leave it to the moms, just one more thing added to our long ‘to do list’.
Tell Pedro to visit sports sites. It seems he belongs there. lol.
Thank you!! I do really think my list is accurate! And Pedro should find a Dad website!
zhu zhu pets are going to be the hardest Christmas gifts to find but I found mine at http://www.efoundit.com/
