Wanchai Ferry Review and Giveaway [CLOSED]
Having a good night in is very important if you want to keep your sanity, at least for me. Having a nice relaxing night in with my husband is something I always look forward too, and I always will. Just like the commercials, the new Wanchai Ferry “stay in” Chinese food is amazing! Check out the commercial, I personally find it hilarious… I mean who could not love that furry and fuzzy panda. Adorable! I wish the real meals actually came with one though, but that might just be the oddball in me!
I was sent an extremely beautiful and elaborate gift set along with a coupon for a free Wanchai Ferry meal. I am an “in the closet” foodie, and I will do anything for a great meal… without having to do all of the preparation involved with going out. As much as I love looking my best, and showering and doing my hair just right and making sure my makeup is just perfect… I feel looking good to go out is better suited for going shopping or maybe an exquisite social event. But not for eating, because that makes me feel like I am doing the opposite of making sure I look good. Which is exactly why an “in the private of my own home” type meal is my favorite kind of night.
I went to my local Super Target and headed directly for the frozen section, I knew I would have to make a decision and pick a flavor and I knew that was going to be a daunting task. The reason behind the dreaded task is one main thing, nothing ever sounds better to me than Chinese food. There have been times where I would have Chinese food every day on my lunch break, for a few months at a time. I am just a big huge sucker for all of the exotic flavors that are only delivered via Chinese cuisine! The Wanchai Ferry offers a whole assortment of flavors, you can go here to check out all of your options… or you can just read the next line, because I am about to list them for you.
- Orange Chicken
- Shrimp Lo Mein
- Spicy Garlic Chicken
- Sweet & Sour Chicken
- Sweet & Spicy Shrimp
With all of those options, my head was spinning. I had absolutely no clue what I was doing the whole time. My husband was very annoyed by the time I had made my decision. The first few choice eliminations were not hard at all, I prefer chicken over shrimp so that knocks out the two shrimp options. I was not in the mood for spicy so that left me with two options. (Hey! I just saw the Wanchai Ferry commercial I posted above on T.V.!) I had to make the hardest foodie decision I’ve ever made regarding Chinese food… normally I could have both but not this time. I had to choose between the tangy Orange Chicken and the mouth watering Sweet & Sour Chicken, oh man I had a hard time. After a few minutes of intense debate (with myself) I decided on the Orange Chicken. It was about dinner time so I went home to start making this delicious meal… and I think that 14 minutes was worse torture than shopping for my options.
Once I sat down to eat, I could not have been more pleased. I had never tried an at home Chinese food option before, but I am very impressed with Wanchai Ferry. The Orange Chicken is just what I wanted it to be, and I honestly wished I had more for the entire night. You know what made it even better? The Perfect Night In Pack that came with it, we ate (very slowly) with the cute metal chop sticks and put our soy sauce in the beautiful sauce dishes and had our plates on our bamboo place mats. I want you to have the same great experience as I did, so thanks to Wanchai Ferry and MyBlogSpark we are giving away a “Perfect Night In Prize Pack” which is going to be an exciting adventure for everybody. I love Peking Duck! The way it is served, with the scallions & the hoison sauce, rolled in a pancake… it is the best! Crunchy, sweet, soft, bitter, it’s all good together!
My favorite Chinese food item is Sweet and Sour Shrimp. I love the crunch of the fried shrimp, the tangy sweetness of the sauce and the overall taste. Thanks.
