We Killed PePe Le Pew

Last night my husband and I went out, on our traditional trip with my mother in law.  I have never liked the drive, it is uphill, and curvy and dark and to be honest there are a lot of jerk-offs that drive that road.  But we have never had a bad experience with the drive… yet.

About half way up the drive, we went up an extremely steep hill and right as the road evened out and we could actually see the road five feet ahead of us and guess what was on the road? A damn skunk. There was no time to slow down and avoid it so we hit. It was the first time I had ever been in a car and an animal had been run over, so my heart was beating extremely fast. That thump thump of the two tires scared me senseless, but that was not the worst part. It most definitely was not the worst part.

 

We had the heater on, it was fairly cold and I wish we didn’t after that. We were all fairly convinced that the skunk had a bit of a case of incontinence when it was hit so.. as I am sure you can guess it squirted. And it stank. The smell of the rotten garlicy mess filled the whole car, and it was bad. Really bad. I have never smelled that potent smell of a skunk before. The things they say about the scent burning your eyes and nose are completely true. It was so horrible, my eyes were watering and my nose was burning and I could not get the smell out of my airways. I almost got sick.

 

That whole situation is hilarious, but it would be even more funny if we could just move on from this whole experience. But we cant because the car wreaks of skunk, and now the whole garage does too. Oh the luck.
