What the hell is going on?

Normally watching the 5′o’clock News is just another daily routine, but today I have realized how scary the world is.. right now.. in 2009.There are a few topics that are particularly disturbing to me. I would love to hold a discussion about these events and see how it has effected people in other area’s of the blogger neighborhood.

This is horrifying to me, especially with all of the earthquakes and tsunamis. There have been over 60 earthquakes world wide in the last 7 days (all of at least 5.o+ on the scale) Source . This is truly terrible, they are still trying to find survivors (death toll in Indonesia has risen to 777) and the warnings for tsunami’s are being watched for everywhere. How do we know when an earthquake is going to hit in our own backyard? We all need to stay informed and keep an eye on all updates regarding these issues.

If you know anybody who is pregnant, I would highly advise that they get the H1N1 (Swine Flu) Vaccination. The number of deaths among pregnant women is frighteningly high.

LONDON—Pregnant women who get swine flu are at least four times as likely to be hospitalized as other people with the virus, a new study says.

A woman from the valley is on trial for child endangerment of two infants, and the murder of the third.  This makes me ill. See video below. This story makes me incredibly sad. How could a woman leave infant babies in the back of a truck? It would drive me insane if I was the one to discover these children.

And if you have not seen this video, it will make you cringe. The first time I watched, I thought to myself.. “How can they show this on t.v.?” Check it out.

I just prey that with all of the disaster that is shaking the world right now, that it calms down soon and we can start helping the ones affected. Things need to get better now, the world has seen enough damage in the last month.

My sister just moved to California a few years ago & already has experienced 3 earthquakes. The most recent one happened this past Easter. She was outside with her two little girls when it hit. They weren’t hurt, but it certainly shook them up! I just pray that’s the last one…at least for a long time.

About the monster in the first video…Why bother getting pregnant in the 1st place if you are just going to abandon your child? And, not only does she do this once, but THREE times??!! Being able to bring a child into this world is a gift that some people just shouldn’t be given.

I cannot fathom how anyone could hurt an innocent child, especially their own flesh & blood. It’s beyond disturbing.

I agree, the most disturbing to me is the harming of children. I have 3 young ones (9, 6, and 2) and there is NO WAY in hell I can even… gosh I can’t even picture them being hurt without even crying.

The natural disasters also tend to worry me alot because they are starting to become more and more common lately, makes you think about the end of the world and all.
